☆ Assignment: Automobile Body Styles and Designs ☆

Automobile Body Styles

Luxury cars are basically very expensive cars that look like regular cars, but, like, shinier and with a fancy logo at the back.

Sports cars are designed, typically, to go fast and for two people. I call them the ‘midlife crisis vehicle.’

Sedans are basically just your average cars. It has a rounded room and usually has four seats.

A Coupe is almost the same thing as a Sedan but its roof/body style is shorter.

Convertibles are cars that have a retractable roof, and that’s basically the only different feature about them. They look cool, though.

Automobile Design

From the video, I found that there was so much artistic talent required to actually make the car. I knew there was at least some, but the talent the designers have is outstanding.
A designer has to consider everything about the car. How it looks affects how it moves, so car designers definitely play a huge part in the creation of a car. If the design isn’t good, the car won’t be good.
The automobile manufacturer that introduced the clay model making method was Harley Earl, who was head of General Motors. It is still used today because it allows for a cheap way to see if the design is good and effective before a huge budget goes into creating an actual model. They can tweak it and perfect it based on the model.
Some advantages of the computer model method are that you can see every detail of it and know exactly what you would need to fix with the model. Since computers are used, it is almost always created perfectly and symmetrical.
